About us

Over & In

‘Over & In’ was designed to give power back to the smaller tennis clubs. Our aim is to allow smaller clubs the chance of a quality coaching programme that suits their needs and not the coaches’ needs.

We strongly belive that if you offer ‘quality’ coaching to any club it can maintain a coaching programme which will be instrumental to its development and growth.
From our extensive research we have encountered three main obstacles to the development of smaller tennis clubs:

  • 1) All too often smaller clubs have to fit around the coach due to the fact that they are unable to provide a coach with full time hours. Therefore the coach dictates the hours/programme and the club is already compromising. The coach is often from a bigger local club and his/her priorities stay with them. No doubt the actual coaching is to a high standard but there is no provision laid for the support or overall development of the coaching programme.

  • 2) Coaching at smaller clubs has been, and is still, very much out of date, with coaching sessions taken by volunteers, under-qualified or outdated coaches. Sessions tended to be designed on mass participation with juniors being charged very small fees for block-coaching. The aim of these sessions was merely to increase participation, and structured sessions aimed at the development of the individual were very rare.

  • 3) Most small clubs are run by a committee who generously give their time as volunteers and do the majority of their work behind the scenes often for very little acknowledgment. Having a coach at a club is a huge responsibility, even if only for a few hours a week. It’s another responsibilty for the committee that is sometimes one to many.

Any club associated with Over & in will never experience any of the above. This is why Over & In is unique. We have no ulterior motive other than to provide tennis clubs with expert advice from experienced, fully licensed LTA tennis coaches. Each club can expect individual programmes to suit their needs. Whether it’s regular coaching for adult team members, a sole focus on junior development or a complete overhaul of the entire coaching structure, we can cater for your needs.

Our motives are simple; to provide coaching to tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities and to ensure that the welfare and ethos of the club is maintained at all times. We feel that our standard of coaching matches that of many larger and performance clubs.

Our rates are extremely competitive and we will assess each individual club before finalising pricing. Over & In does not charge the club any money for its service. The only money charged is to the participants of any coaching sessions.

We do not claim to produce world-class tennis players. Exceptionally talented individuals will be advised on future coaching programmes. We have several strong links with high performance tennis centres as well as links with overseas performance clubs. We adhere to British tennis policy on talent identification.
